Obtaining OKU Assistance 2024
The Malaysian government provides various types of assistance to Persons with Disabilities (OKU) to ensure their welfare. To be eligible for this assistance, OKU needs to register with the Department of Social Welfare (JKM) and possess an OKU card. Registration can be done through the following link: MyDaftarOKU.
OKU Assistance List 2024
1. Disabled Workers Allowance (EPOKU)
Assistance Rate: RM450 per month per individual.
Objective: Encourage OKU to continue working, become self-reliant, and contribute productively to society.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Malaysian citizen residing and working in Malaysia.
- Aged 16 and above.
- Holds an OKU card from the Department of Social Welfare (JKM).
- Monthly income does not exceed RM1,500.

2. Assistance for Disabled Persons Unable to Work (BTB)
Assistance Rate: RM300 per month per individual.
Objective:
- Assist OKU who are unable to work.
- Encourage OKU to continue living with their families.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Malaysian citizen and residing in Malaysia.
- Aged 16 and above.
- Holds an OKU card from the Department of Social Welfare (JKM).
- Unable to work.
- Not a resident or participant of institutional programs under JKM, free service day/ residential care centers, or Community Rehabilitation Program (PDK).
- Monthly income does not exceed the current Poverty Line Income (PGK) average per capita.

3. Care Assistance for Bedridden OKU / Chronic Bedridden Patients (BPT)
Assistance Rate: RM500 per month per individual.
Objective:
- Relieve the burden of families or caregivers.
- Encourage families or caregivers to provide diligent care to bedridden OKU members, bedridden patients, or those with chronic illnesses.
Eligibility Criteria:
- Malaysian citizen and residing in Malaysia.
- Applicant must be a full-time caregiver or provide close supervision and care to bedridden OKU, bedridden patients, or chronic patients requiring monitoring and care.
- Household monthly income does not exceed RM3,000.
The implementation of this welfare assistance aligns with the Joint List between the Federal and State Governments as specified in the Federal Constitution of Malaysia under List 3 – Ninth Schedule of Legislative Lists.
