Rahmah Prepaid Student Package
The Ministry of Communications has announced the Rahmah Prepaid Student Package, offering it at a price not exceeding RM30. The package includes a minimum of 30 gigabytes (GB) of data, valid for 180 days.
Fahmi Fadzil, the Minister of Communications, stated that this package is specifically tailored for secondary school graduates who are continuing their studies at public higher education institutions (IPTA) and selected public skills training institutions (ILKA).
“The Rahmah Prepaid Student Package will be available starting August 16 through five major telecommunications service providers: CelcomDigi, Maxis, U Mobile, TM Tech, and YTL Communications (YES),” he announced during the inauguration of the Communication Ethics and Responsibility Conference by the Institute of Public Relations Malaysia (IPRM) today.
Also present at the event was the Ministry of Communications’ Chief Secretary, Datuk Mohamad Fauzi Md Isa.
Providing further details, Fahmi explained that this initiative is the result of a strategic collaboration between the Ministry of Communications and telecommunications service providers. It aligns with the government’s aim to address the rising cost of living, particularly to assist students during their academic sessions.

He also mentioned that additional information regarding the Rahmah Prepaid Student Package will be revealed by the telecommunications service providers. The complete list of selected IPTA and ILKA institutions will be available on the Ministry of Communications’ website: www.komunikasi.gov.my.
During a subsequent press conference, Fahmi confirmed that the Rahmah Prepaid Student Package is available to all students in IPTA and ILKA.
“We will start this initiative for all IPTA and ILKA students first, and then we will discuss with the telecommunications companies to further expand the package.”
